In the spirit of doing more regular posts these are I recently went to the Brewery Art Centre and saw work by artist Takao Saito I was immediately drawn to his intense dramatic style and felt lucky to stumble on to the works at the centre. What I particularly like is that the paper provides a neutral tone and the white paint marks create splashes of light to add a sharp depth to the work. Manga has influenced my drawings and style since I was 16, it was great to see Saito orginal marks first hand at the gallery.
The Brewery Centre is based in Kendal and the exhibition is on until the 3rd of September they have heaps going at the centre you can easily make a full day trip and see a performance at night, Kendal is also home to Kendal cake- minty heaven.
